first, i must apologise for my absence from the site.. i have been extremely busy with work and just life in general and like dwayne, just haven't had enough time for the site..

this brings me to inform everyone of a hiatus starting today as i literally will be on hiatus (read = much needed holiday) and will make my decision to keep the site running or not at the end of may..

i would very much like to keep the site going and would regret to end it but right now, i simply can't make enough time to devote to the site (or replying e-mails for that matter - 1000 sorry's m)..

many thanks and appreciation for everyone's ongoing support for 4 years running now..

+ DEPARTURE FROM CHARLIZE_BABY +

It's not easy to do this, but I've made the decision to leave charlize_baby today.

I've been working on the site for 2 and a half years and it's been a great deal of fun for me and a great pleasure to work with Anne!  If I can really call it "work" since it has been really enjoyable.

But lately my priorities have been leaning more towards other things in life, and I just don't have as much time to spend updating the site.

I respect Charlize as an actress and I will continue to watch her films, however it comes to a point where you begin to think "Why am I really collecting her pictures?".  "What do I gain from seeing her being photographed on the red carpet as well as in her personal life?".  The answer "Because I'm a fan," is just not sufficient enough for me.

Charlize seems like a respectable person, but do we all actually know her - have we all even met her?

To be a fan of her movies is one thing - but it's no easy task keeping up to date with her schedules and we shouldn't even have to be concerned about her private life.

I will still continue to respect Charlize as an actress and follow her film career, but I've decided from today to keep it at just that.

I hope you will understand my reason for leaving, and respect my decision and opinions.

As a fan, best of luck to Charlize Theron with her career.  May she continue making great films and finding happiness in her career and her personal life respectively.

Thanks, first of all, to Anne who recruited me to her great fansite and put up with me through numerous layout changes and updates.  She's good at what she does and she's just as great of a friend.

Thanks to all the visitors who contacted me and supported me - and in some cases even became online friends.  It was through this site that I got to know you.

I’m ready to take on the responsibility of motherhood.” Charlize says Stuart Townsend is “the man I want to share parenthood with.”

On 7 March, Charlize attended a taping for AMC's Shootout, promoting Sleepwalking.  The interview is split up into 3 parts on the Shootout website and the taping aired on 16 March.  Watch the interview by clicking either of the thumbnails below:

On 10 March, Charlize appeared on Oprah.  The interview was very touching and the focus wasn't on her film Sleepwalking, but on her trip to South Africa last year where she launched her Mobile Health Clinic in less privileged areas.  She also displayed a dress which was put up for auction and later raised $1,825 for charity.

On 11 March, Charlize attended the Sleepwalking Premiere in NYC.  She looked radiantly beautiful and like a modern goddess.

You may have heard Charlize is set to star in the remake of the Korean film Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (Chinjeolhan geumjassi).  She has confirmed this in a recent interview with MTV.  Original director Park Chan-Wook actually approached Charlize and encouraged her to produce and star in the remake.

The story is about a woman (to be played by Charlize) who is imprisoned for 13 years for the kidnap and murder of a 6 year old boy.  She starts seeking revenge on the man who was actually responsible for the boy's death.  With the help of fellow inmates and being reunited with her daughter, she gets closer to her goal.  But will her actions lead to the relief she seeks?
